Mission Statement
The purpose of the North American Basque Hen Association is to unite the efforts of Basque Hen (Euskal Oiloa) enthusiasts across North America in the enjoyment, promotion, and improvement of this breed. The Basque Hen is characterized by its friendly personality making the breed uniquely adapted to urban settings and ideal for production of eggs and meat under farm conditions.
To achieve this goal the North American Basque Hen Association is committed to:
· Creating a cooperative environment among breeders and owners of Basque Hens across Canada and the United States.
· Encouraging unity, integrity, and goodwill within the greater Euskal Oiloa community.
· Focusing and organizing the efforts of breeders in North America to a Standard of Perfection for the Basque Hen in the style and format recognized by the American Poultry Association.
· Promoting the breeding, exhibition, and distribution of high quality purebred North American Basque Hens that adhere to the Standard of Perfection set forth.
· Sharing of information on breeding, husbandry and the economic value of Basque Hens.
